Responsibilities:
Ensure the development and implementation of corporate and public affairs strategic and tactical plans to support the company’s objective in Thailand
Identify partnership opportunities with government, public and private sectors around NCDs, design and deliver programs that address patient access to quality originator medicines in Thailand, and advance business goals
Act as an expert in the Thailand market:
Anticipate potential issues, effects of government, competitors, NGOs, and other external action and reaction to brand, address policy and reputational issues, crisis management
Identify and anticipate impact of business development opportunities on pricing, reputation, policies
Embed external environment assessment, policy objectives and stakeholder engagement plan into country strategic operation plan development and execution.
Manage pricing policy challenges related to off-patient medicines (e.g., procurement, pricing, and tender) and create strategies to mitigate onerous policies.
Identify priority public policy, government affairs, and public health/patent access and communication opportunities to maximize value to the business
Support in executing the value narrative for the company Thailand and its brands
Coordinate with local counterparts from legal, compliance, commercial and medical and with the regional corporate affairs ASEAN lead to ensure alignment across initiatives and issues.
Support GM in building connection with local trade associations and patient advocacy groups to advance key policy priorities in Thailand
Offer counsel to GM and support CA capabilities building initiatives
Develop Thailand public affairs strategy and track effectiveness
Ensure activities are in full compliance with Pfizer policy and legal obligations
Qualifications:
Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in Thailand public policy and/or market access, government relations, public affairs, corporate affairs, legal affairs, communication, media relations.
Thailand health care industry or highly regulated industry knowledge preferred
Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and persuasively, to communicate at highest level of government and business and with internal cross functional teams
Intellectually curious
Ability to work in a matrix environment
Proven track record of coalition building in complex environment
Hands-on crisis and reputation management experience
Strong organization, prioritization and project management skills.
Innovative and process driven with regards to problem solving and results oriented.
Must be able to work 1) under pressure, 2) both independently and in a team environment, and 3) with all levels of the organization as well as government officials.
University degree in political science, science, law, pharmaceutical science or health economics highly desirable.
