Finance Manager – Thailand & Vietnam (FMCG)

Job Purpose/Overview:

  • Responsible for co-piloting of cross-functional activity teams driving growth and profitability of the Market. The role provides in-depth financial analysis and insights, leading to robust recommendations for business activities (item, pack, pricing, customer investment, and route-to-market).

  • The role is also responsible for implementing and leading financial shaping process (annual / strategic) for the units (Thailand & Vietnam) within the South East Asia (SEA) and Asia regional framework.

  • Drive the Financial actual and Planning process through the delivery of key decision-making processes. This includes providing information, liaising with, and communicating with, a regular client group such as SEA Finance Director, GM and leadership team


Key Responsibilities:

  • S&OP (Forecasting) enabling decision making

    • Manage the processes of the Market financial shaping and financial forecasting, analysis, management accounting and reporting. 

    • Own, develop and analyze financial information to produce rolling forecasts of business (Thailand & Vietnam) for 24 months.

    • Serve as the Finance Co-pilot to leadership team of Thailand and Vietnam by providing financial advice to ensure sound financial and operational decisions.

    • Support strategy definition and implementation, developing and evaluating longer term strategies, forecasts and investment plans.

  • Financial Closing

    • Lead monthly/ quarterly/ year closing of the books of accounts.

    • Create and present financial analysis that is necessary to measure the financial results and guide future business decisions. This includes monthly and quarterly financial packages to track trends and performance of sales, costs, expenses and other critical metrics.

  • Budget Tracking and Analysis (Enhancing growth and profitability)

    • Track expenses and revenues vs. budget and reforecast and analyze fluctuations

    • Evaluate profit and cost efficiencies in various areas of the organization as needed

    • Including identifying business issues and opportunities and making recommendations for future actions.

    • Analyzes and summarizes financial reports such as commercial product launch recommendations, Trade Expenditure spending, pricing strategy and profitability of brand portfolio. The incumbent also analyzes actual results of operations to identify real or potential problems and recommends corrective action to management.

    • Proactive identify and analyze business issues and opportunities, including recommendations for future actions.

  • Process Improvements (Digital)

    • Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

    • Move towards usage of digital reports (reports on Power BI/ other tools) to enable agile decision making.

    • Develops and implements process improvements to ensure financial processes are effective and efficient

    • Initiate, lead, and manage projects which will improve current business results and deliver against strategy.

  • Operating Plan

    • Manages the Financial Shaping Process and target setting, liaising with different functions and management. Ensuring financial plans are fully aligned to the strategic direction and aspirations of the business.

  • Context and Scope

    • The Finance Manager is a role which will be a co-pilot to the business. The role is therefore optimally placed to influence and educate many other functions such as Sales, Marketing, logistics so that appropriate trade-offs the best business solution to achieve the plan objectives are found and implemented.

    • The job will interface with senior managers across business functions and requires a good technical understanding of Finance and Business Management principles. This must be applied in a diverse range of situations where experience and judgement are required, and where dealing with ambiguity is a day-to-day requirement.


This job holder will be required to work with associates across different functions. As such, strong leadership and rigorous managing and measuring skills will be required in order to ensure the delivery of key accountabilities.


  • Bachelor degree's in Accounting, Finance, Business Admin or related field.

  • Minimum 10 years working experience and 5 years in FP&A or Commercial Finance.

  • Strong background in FMCG.

  • Good communicator, and ability to work across functions.

  • Good command of English.

  • Thai nationality.
